Fried Apple Pies

This was a miserable failure. I took a recipe from here and decided to do it in a dutch oven. I went with 20 charcoals underneath the dutch oven. While this provided enough heat to brown up the pies cooking took far too long. Pies also fell apart because of a combination of the slow cooking speed and being prodded by the tongs. I didn't bother to take pictures because the end result was pretty messy. Immediately placing the pies on paper towels may have cleaned up the grease a little bit but most of the blame rests on the shoulders of the low heat.

Only about a third of the pies were used, I am going to try baking them in a regular oven later to see if I can get some use out of them.
