10/13/06 Gil's LotD: Hipsters, Fish homes A Myspace profile is a LotD? OMGWTFBBQ. Check it out, its a cool local band. Check out the Fishloft. Instructions on how to make a plexiglass tube that goes in a pond and uses atmospheric pressure to keep itself full of the pond water, creating a loft for fishes. This is cool.

9/12/06 Gil's LotD: Loud speakers, USGS maps Cool experiment that uses speakers to lift things. All of the USGS topographical maps were bought by this guy and were sent over to the Internet Archive so soon you shall be able to download them for free. Check back for updates. This is cool. USGS mapviewing software.

9/7/06 Gil's LotD: Jet engines, Heavy things, Poincaré This guy put a jet engine in the back of his Beetle. It works. A story about an undergrad in a lab who decides to take a 230 L DeWar flask full of liquid nitrogen down a stairway in a handcar. A really good story from The New Yorker about the man who solved the Poincaré conjecture.

8/30/06 Gil's LotD: Final Countdown, Colorblindness, Paintballs The worst cover ever of the song The Final Countdown. A story describing how colorblind people view color. A very neat video about how paintballs are made. I think they are edible, my brother disagrees. This issue needs to be discussed further (I already know nontoxic does not equal edible).

8/21/06 Gil's LotD: Graphing Calculator, iPods A great story about the graphing calculator program that was included with all PPC macs. YamiPod is a program for Mac and Windows which lets you copy music to and from iPods without the iTunes program.

7/14/06 Gil's LotD: Birds, Google, Windows This video is about a bird that is able to mimic the sounds it hears around it, including sounds of people. This is an amazing video. An interview with a Google employee. A developer (who likes to randomly bold words) on MSDN writes about the Windows development process.
